Sail to the Moon

I woke up to the news this morning...

Georgy-boy wants to go back to the moon, and then to mars as well...


Personaly,THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!

We should have done that a long time ago,

BUT

it seems apollo 13 and the challenger took all the bite out of our initiave (and courage) for space exploration...

Its way past time we get it back... It would be wonderful to have a permanant station on the moon... besides, Ive been getting sick of all those flat-earth theorists... And we need better news than war and death and blackouts...


But where are we going to get the money for it george???? hmmmmmm??????? Its all being spent in Iraq and etc... And how are we going to get more with tax cuts hmmm????

We cant have our guns and butter too.... Johnson already tried that, remember????

Its just a ploy for votes... DONT FALL FOR IT!!!! NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING!!!! He almost had me,... but any president can get us to the moon...

Depression is back. Like a visitor, comes in, stays for a few days... cant fight him, cant throw him out, because he'll still be there, clawing at the door until he's had his stay. The most you can do is accomidate, make him feel comfortable, give him his space, and wait until another houseguest comes along to take his place...

He'll leave when he wants to... it just takes time...

Went to go see Bad Santa with Luke tonight... It was nice, funny, and sadistic... JUST HOW I LIKES IT :) Billy Bob Thorton plays a great drunk who just doesnt give a shit, and it has something of a twisted lesson, without being too sacchrine... His heart doesnt grow three sizes that day, but maybe just one size...Defintily one for the library

It was good to go out, have human contact, and not have it turn into a report on how Im being slandered.... I need to go out more often like that...

That, and we are really not racing with anyone at all...

At least the soviets put up a good fight with their potatoe-fueled booster rockets... the terrorists couldnt get to the moon if they were shot out into space in the general direction of the moon... I think they still believe the earth is flat or something like that....


The seabiscut thing is true... but also as a person who has always been fascinated with outer space, the progress of science and discovery, evolution, and with the potential of outer space exploration, sending another trip to the moon, and people to mars, would be beautiful... Their generation had the moon landing, ours needs something like that...

Can you imagine all the uses we could have for the moon and mars? Nuclear and other waste disposal, penal colony, relief for overcrowding, industrial manufacturing, a place for those things that threaten the enviroment, golf course, nightclub, mcdonalds franchise, drilling and testing for fuels, its only as limited as our imagination

Well the moon and mars are inhospital wastelands as it is... Id rather take what he've been doing to the earth, and do it in places that are already screwed, leaving the earth nice and clean....

the only way ghettos would spring up would be if the settlers became too damned lazy to take care of themselves.... Notice on the frontiers of the pioneer days, there were no ghettos... everyone was too busy trying to survive, ghettos didnt spring up until cities fully developed, and then the lazy could become welfare junkies and sit, watching their neighborhoods turn to waste feeling sorry for themselves and blaming the government for not giving them everything on a silver platter (but now Im ranting...)

It would be nice to have recycling and reusable by-products, but hey, its gotta go somewhere until then.... why not a barren wasteland like the moon?

To be honest, Ive never seen Total Recall...

And we NEED a mcdonalds on the moon... where else are you going to find food at 4 in the morning (besides denny's anyways.... blah) :-p

Why does Shrub want to arouse support for more space exploration? B/c he needs more money to fight wars and stroke his economy.
