For music and film, 2007 seemed like a year stock-full of crap. Granted, there were some great works released, but it seemed like when it was bad, it was VERY bad. And that just seemed to weigh it all down. Nine Inch Nails, VNV Nation, and Marilyn Manson came out with very lackluster and disappointing releases. I am Legend and Spider-Man 3 were very anti-climatic. And AVP 2 was one of the worst pieces of garbage of the decade. All in all, I would say that 2007 would be the worst year for film and music (except for maybe 2003, but then again, maybe its just me?)
Towards the end of 2007, was when I signed up for facebook, and that's also where I met Carolyn. I liked facebook as a cleaner and classier version of myspace, with no webcam whores, and a better way to control annoying bullitan bombs. That, and as the years would progress, I bumped into people Ive been missing for years, and brought a way to bring valued closure to many loose ends in my personal psyche.
Hipster kickball began to turn into a fad. I spent the year waking up to Buzz Radio in the morning, and began to remember why I loved and hated radio. Occaisional new and good music, mostly crap fad garbage and annoyingly bad radio DJs. The fad that is cat macros really took off this year as well.
also spent most of my time on CBUB, which was fun while it lasted. But the bad attitude and obcessive bickering from the peanut gallery caused it to loose its appeal fast.
Youtube arbitrarily deleted my account and blocked me from unsubscribing. So thus I swore off using youtube to upload videos, and opened an account with dailymotion, which I use to this day.
2007 was also a big year for the old memes, and also there was Turkey or Not as a fun film rating site. Also, there was flixster, which wasnt always a crappy myspace clone for movies.
For video games, there wasnt any new releases that I bothered to invest in. Although, after discovering Final Fantasy VII in storage, I became addicted to the whole Final Fantasy game series, notably playing VII, X, and VIII. It was the year that the 1st of the next generation of game consoles, the Wii among the others, began to be released to the market, but given my financial situation and lack of attractive games, I didnt bother to jump on the ship immediatly.
