The Death of the Age of Enlightenment
Perhaps I was a little extreme with the thoughts of the election results...
Yes, I still am upset.... not so much that it was Bush who won, but it was Bush who was elected,,,
I was hoping that the U.S. citizen was better than that... I was hoping, that america knew what was good for them, and knew what was bad for their country...
I was wrong....
Working at T-Mobile, as my longtime readers will attest to (if they're been paying attention), as well as living in Wichita, has taught me a very dim view of humanity, of society, etc. And I was hoping that Kerry's victory would restore my hope and faith in the American people, that not everyone was a simpleton, that the educated elite was the majority, and would naturaly conquor and lead the unenlightened...
I was wrong...
Its not the next four years that has me bothered... its the fact that I no longer have any hope for the enlightenment of the common people... I cannot trust the people to be able to stand on their own two feet... thus I feel as if I cannot trust the people I know (knew) and love (loved) anymore... I assume the worst from them, they assume the worst from me... A very uncomfortable and lonely way to live, yes... but that's my problem, not yours...
And of course, the only thing that these people understand, is blunt, emotional appeals... no one wants to think about pointed, factual debates anymore... it makes their heads hurt... now even the orators have no choice, but to sink down to their level to avoid getting drowned out in the shouts of stuttering and "typo-speak"
The Age of Enlightenment is Over...
"We used to love ourselves
We used to love one another..."

Re: Now here is the question you must answer for yourself.
I know, its a "glass half empty" type thing to say... but ah well...
no subject
It's okah...
He told me that there once was an indian cheif who prophesized, and everything he foretold happened. He said that every number of terms, the president would be assassinated. So far he's been right.
And, if the prophesy holds true (as it has for near 200 years) it's Bush's turn to be assassinated.
I just thought that would make you feel better. :)
