Well, Im back from the annual comicon and Im finaly finished the tally.

I ended up coming home with 210 single issues (thats about one full longbox), and 4 trade paperbacks. Money spent was app. 300. And only 3 of the books purchesed I already owned. So statisticals, thats about 1.43 an issue, with an accuracy of 99.98572%, which is pretty damned good considering that I had misplaced the list that alostrael was so kind to print out for me, being that I was out of ink...

And an extra-special shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] alostrael for going with me, keeping me company, helping me carry the books, and putting up with my obcessive buying spree.... THANKS!!! IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!

I just wish I had the energy to go out to Finns later that night, but hell, I still had moving to do...
Signed by the artist, no less...

As for today...

I was on my way out the door with a load of boxes, when I happened upon a nice old lady I used to be in the same division with at work. I guess she was moving in as I was moving out. Anyway, she was telling me that her husband just asked for a divorace after 30 some odd years of marriage, and refusing to pay alamony, child support, etc etc. I didnt really know her THAT well, but I did feel kinda sorry for her. Starting 0ut from scratch when you're in your 40s is not a good way to start, let alone without any support from friends and family. Plus, I can imagine that it can be hard to find a mate when you get to be that age (which is why I tend to get depressed about not having a consort... Id hate to be a 45 year old bachalor). She was also something of a depressive person too. Anyway, we chatted for a bit, I gave her a few encouraging words, then she came out and hugged me, which was unexpected as I am not used to that sort of thing, but it did feel good to know that I brought at least SOME level of comfort to a person who lost so much and betrayed so without warning...

But other than that, its a beautiful day...

(its always that... "other than _____ it was a great day
when you think about it...)

If jesus really loved me, he'd kill all those pesky evangelists and fundamentalists...

"Bart! you cant ask jesus to kill people!" "yeah boy! you do your OWN dirty work!"

But that did make my day! I feel I can deal with life's problems today, just because of THAT. Nice...
