Faith and Logic

Friday, last call of the day.... Im kept after work by almost 45 minutes by a 'Mr. Schindler', wants us to adjust his overage for going over his mins, because he says that he's upgrading his rate plan... His logic dictates that a. he doesnt have coverage at his home, b. They were all local calls, c. since he was upgrading to a more expensive rate plan, and d. because he is a customer and the customer should always be right, we should adjust his bill by almost 200.00 AS WELL AS recieving the free month that he is already recieving because of his whining... our logic is 1. if you didnt have coverage, then why did you go over your mins?, 2. Local or long distance, you still have a set number of mins included in the cost of your rate plan, and if you use more than your allowance, then you will have to pay for the service that you used that was not included in your original rate plan, 3. its better to 20 more for a rate plan than 200.00 more for the same amount of mins via overage rate of .40/min, and 4. Yes, we want to keep customers, but not if they are going to be asking for free service and credits that we do not deserve... loose or keep you, we're still going to be loosing money. Eventualy, my senior rep got on the phone and continued to argue with him, for almost an hour straight, because no matter how we tried to explain it to him, he always had some excuse or reason, the whole "yeah I understand but...", which means that he just wasnt paying attention, only waiting to hear what he wanted to hear. Nothing makes me more sick, than to see a grown person, sniviling and groping for slack when none is deserved, to hear a person not taking any responsibility for their own usage... I try not to take seriously any negative stereotypes of people of the jewish culture being stingy and obcessivly argumentative, but sometimes the facts are self-evident...

Working in customer service, can give you a very dim view of american society and humanity as a whole...

Its hard for me to actualy recall any major events of the past few days... its like the days all string together into one continious moment, the past, non-existant... Its frightening, Im afraid one day Ill wake up and be 40, and not having anything to mention/worth mentioning between then and now... but then again, that doesnt make me special... everyone gets the fear... fear of time, growing old, growing old alone, etc... But that doesnt make me feel any better either...

Anyway, last week saw Alien vs. Predator, which was a fun beat-em-up movie.... oh wait, I already mentioned that.... what else....

I saw my old photography teacher from high school on friday at taco bell... its always good seeing a familiar face, especialy when its a person you really enjoyed the company of... definitly one of the better teachers, so of course he's no longer teaching there... mostly teaches photoshop at Wichita State University

I swear... I NEED to get back into photography work... it has been WAY too long...

Today, went to the mall, hot topic, ONLY because they had the Invader Zim v.2 DVD in stock... I encountered a 12 year old kid there... walked up to me and asked me if he could ask me a question... entertained, I gave him permission, then asked if I knew Jesus Christ was my personal lord and saviour... I then burst out in loud, boistrous laughing...

no matter how depressive I may seem, Im sure people who have spent time around me can attest that I am very much capable of a loud belly laugh

Anyway, I asked him how old he was, and why he was here... then I proceded to reason with him... I asked him how long god has been around, and of course he said forever, I then asked him how long people have been around, he said since Adam and Eve, I then asked him how long has christianity been advertised, then the nail- I then ask him- dont you think, with how long god has been around, and how well he's been advertised, that people who are interested by now will already know, and those who are not interested have already been asked? I also then asked him if he ever recieves junk mail, spam, etc, then asked him to try and make the connection between unsolicited advertisement and evangelism, and how evangelism is disrespectful to other cultures. Bingo. He said good day and walked away, ignoring me. You always know when a christian is beaten, when they refuse to answer a question, and procede to ignore you... as if not believing in you will make you go away...

And I was going to also try and tell him that he's a kid, and he should be busy enjoying being a kid, playing poke'mon, playing video games, baseball, reading, or whatever the hell it is that 12 year olds do... I also wanted to tell him that it was unlawful to be soliciting at the mall... ah well, sometimes, christians are just so insecure in themselves, that they just cant listen to anyone... which makes sense when you think about it...

Lets see, what else... ah yes, saw the Voodoo Organist last weekend at Kirby's... got some social activity in, which I guess you can say is a healthy step back in the right direction... the main annecdote I have to share is that during the show, one of the lenses of my eyeglasses landed on the floor, and I was kinda freaked out that I wouldnt find it again... but I did, and was able to put it back in...

I was just glad it didnt fall and land underneath contessa777's dress who was standing in front of me... that would have been a horrible, yet awkwardly hallarical faux paux, stumbling in that general region to find the rouge eyeglass, then the public looking down, seeing my position, then blowing the whole circumstance out of context,as usual... lol they can then add "pree-vert" and "rapist" to the list of names and rumours....

ah well.. gotta keep a sense of humour about these things...


Oh yes.... Ill be seeing Harry Potter at the palace west tonight... maybe 8pm or 11pm.... if you want to join me, reply, call, or whichever... no reason why I still cannot invite people or strangers with me...
